Description of Presentation:

Do you ever jump out of bed on Monday morning and think, “Great! I get to go to work today!” or is more like “Great. I have to go to work today!” There can be lots of reasons for that, but one of the most prevalent is a lack of psychological safety at work. If people feel they will be ridiculed for ideas or punished for taking reasonable risk, they do not feel safe. If people are lethargic, cynical, risk averse, it is impossible to improve performance. Productively goes down, absenteeism goes up, and high turnover creates havoc and huge financial losses.

Many times, we react negatively to stimuli and if that stimuli comes from our employee, we begin to create psychological insecurity. It is the duty of managers to create a secure environment. Dan Nolan takes on this delicate, but vital topic with humor and sensitivity. Think about a psychologically secure environment and ask how today.

Speaker Bio:

Dan is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. He holds a master’s degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, as well as a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Planning from the US Naval War College. A lifelong learner, Dan continues his studies at the doctoral level in organizational leadership.
