Make a Splash with Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett!

For more than 30 years Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett has been educating and empowering children who need a dedicated and flexible school setting to maximize their potential. Their mission is to nurture and challenge each student at their own level while instilling a positive self-image and love for learning that will last a lifetime.

This July, Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett will be hosting a summer camp for their students! GYP is partnering with Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett to offer young professionals an opportunity to volunteer at the summer camp. The summer camp will be held outside from July 19^th – July 21^st and will include a myriad of fun outdoor water activities for the kids. Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett is seeking volunteers to help out at each water-activity station from 12:30pm-2:30pm. Volunteers will be required to help kids get through each station safely and ensure they’re having fun.

If you have a heart for kids and are looking for a way to serve your community, consider volunteering during the Special Needs Schools of Gwinnett Summer Camp!

Volunteers have the option to choose from 3 different dates - either July 19th, July 20th, or July 21st. Registration is required.

Please note, volunteer’s clothes and shoes may get wet. Please be sure to dress accordingly. Additionally, all volunteers are required to fill out a Release and Consent Form and will be required to complete a brief online background check. More details will be provided once registered.

What are GYP Impact Events?

These community engagement programs are avenues for young adults to utilize their sphere of influence to positively impact others. GYP partners with different non-profit organizations to rally young professionals around different service projects in our community.

About Gwinnett Young Professionals (GYP):

Gwinnett Young Professionals (GYP) is a personal and professional development program led by the Gwinnett Chamber. The program encourages young business people to develop and enhance their leadership skills, exchange ideas, share common interests, learn more about the area’s business community, and engage in the community’s future. GYP is designed for individuals, ages 21 to 35, who are living and/or working in Gwinnett. GYP does not require any type of membership fees/dues to participate. Getting involved with GYP is as simple as attending an event.
