WHAT ARE GYP IMPACT EVENTS?

Gwinnett Young Professionals (GYP) partners with various local non-profits to provide avenues for young adults to utilize their sphere of influence to positively impact others. Through these partnerships, we are able to offer young professionals in Gwinnett a myriad of different volunteer and community service opportunities.

For this GYP Impact event, we are partnering with Junior Achievement of Georgia and we will be volunteering at their Discovery Center in Gwinnett!

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT DISCOVERY CENTER AT GWINNETT

Every year more than 25,000 middle school students from Gwinnett County Public Schools have the opportunity to take part in JA BizTown and JA Finance Park. Located on the campus of Discovery High School in Lawrenceville, the high-impact education center allows middle school students to experience learning like never before. Following a series of in-class lessons, the JA Discovery Center brings education to life and provides students with an immersive learning experience that gives them a glimpse of what their futures can entail. You will coach a small group of students through the simulation, while sharing your life experiences that will help make the day authentic for the students. In JA Finance Park, you’ll help students make the connection between their education and career, career and income, and ultimately their income and lifestyle. You will help them discover the value of themselves, their education, and their future beyond the classroom walls. No matter your profession, your life experiences qualify you to be a successful volunteer! Please read our volunteer waiver in advance. You will receive an online version to sign during the sign-up process.
