QPR stands for Question, Persuade, Refer. Any business owner, manager or HR professional should want to attend this course as they could be in a position to prevent suicide. QPR is not a form of counseling or treatment, rather it is intended to offer hope through positive action.

When you complete the QPR training you will be able to recognize the warning signs, clues, and suicidal communications of people in trouble, and gain skills to act vigorously to prevent a possible tragedy.

Certificates of completion are provided to attendees.

About the Speaker:

Karen Tinker is the Director of the Drug Free Workplace/DOT Division of The Council on Alcohol and Drugs. A vital part of Karen’s role with the Council is educating Georgia employers and employees on the benefits of working drug free, how to effectively maneuver federal drug testing and compliance regulations, and her newest training module is QPR Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention education which offers hope through positive action.

Karen is a trusted advisor and drug free workplace advocate who has a true passion for fighting the nation’s drug problem, educating the workforce, and improving communities. Karen is a talented public speaker and published author of books for young readers. In her free time, Karen volunteers as a youth lacrosse coach and teen mentor and has several years’ experience as a business owner.
