BIOGRAPHY:

Karen Tinker is the Director of the Drug Free Workplace/DOT Division of The Council on Alcohol and Drugs. A vital part of Karen’s role with the Council is educating Georgia employers and employees on the benefits of working drug free.

In addition to helping businesses understand the ins/outs of a state’s Drug Free Workplace program, Karen focuses on the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing, training and compliance education. She conducts trainings nationwide for Designated Employer Representatives (DERs) who need help navigating the complicated federal rules and regulations.

Karen is highly regarded as a trusted advisor and drug free workplace advocate who has a true passion for fighting the nation’s drug problem and improving communities. Karen is a published author of books for young readers and volunteers as a youth lacrosse coach and mentor. Karen is also an active member of many drug prevention organizations.
