ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Julie Musselman, executive director at Georgia Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus

Julie Musselman serves as the executive director of the Georgia Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (GACVB), a position she has held for 10 years. One of the first to receive a Bachelor of Business Administration in Nonprofit/Association Management from The University of Georgia, she has worked in the arena for more than 20 years. When GACVB made the decision bring its legislative efforts in-house, Musselman worked alongside the board of directors to form an Advocacy Plan that includes an active Public Policy Committee and lobbyist who monitors tourism related issues at the Capitol.

Kevin Langston, deputy commissioner, tourism division at Georgia Department of Economic Development

Kevin Langston is deputy commissioner of economic development for tourism at the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the state’s lead governmental organization for promoting, marketing and supporting economic growth.

In his role as the leader of Georgia Tourism, he and his team work to sell Georgia as a top leisure travel destination. Prior, he served in the agency’s Global Commerce division as director of international operations, managing the state’s offices in 10 locations around the world.

Langston has a diverse background encompassing many aspects of economic development, tourism and marketing. Originally from Missouri, he graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University.
